Public Works Update

Little Elm infrastructure is taking a leap forward. The funding from the general revuew bonds approved by the voters in 2003 and 2004 combined with a state grant and impact (user) fees will bring improvements in water distribution, sewer expansion and improvement, and widening of town roads. Doug Peach, Public Works Director, feels the projects will insure Little Elm residents will continue to have dependable infructure.

Water Distribution:
a. Reparing Mansel 2 million gallon water storage tank.
b. Construction new 1 million gallong elevated water storage tank.
c. New pumps at the Mansel Pump Station.
d. New 30 inch water lines from Lake Lavon.
e. Designing new 16 inch water line for retail customers along FM 423
f. West El Dorado water line relocation is completed in anticipation of the toll bridge north bound road construction.

Sewer Expansion and Improvements:
a. El Dorado sewwer expansion intital design for boring under Lewsiville Lake from north of the El Dorado bridge to the west bank is done. Final design is underway. Doug Peach is seeking TxDot approval to transport fresh water over the new bridge or the water line will be bored under the lake when the sewer line is bored.
b. Designing new Cottonwood Creek sewer trunk line.
c. Wastewater odor reduction.
d. More sewer treatment capacity at the Panther plant.

Widening / Improving Town Roads:
a. Hart Road widening to four lanes north of El Dorado Parkway.
b. El Dorado Parkway street lighting.
c. Widening King Road to four lanes north of Witt Road.
d. Connection of Witt Road to Preston on the Lake.
