National Night Out

Once again summer brings us National Night Out the crime and drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch on Tuesday, August 1st, 2006. Town Leaders and Little Elm's Police & Fire Departments will be participating by visiting block parties throughout the town and holding a Safety Fair from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Police Department located in Town Hall.

Booths will be set up to provide information on boating safety, personal safety, identity theft, and lots more. There will also be a kids fingerprinting and DNA profiling cards to help parents obtain the data they will need should the unthinkable occur.

There will be lots of activities for the kids and visits from McGruff, Freddy Fox and the State Farm Bear. Squad Cars, Police Motorcyles, Boats and Animal Control vehicles will be available for viewing by the public. For the adults a Fatal Vision display will allow them to try on google's which simulate the view one has when intoxicated. Free hot dogs and soft drinks will also be provided along with a goody bag for attendees.
