Road Rules

Just a reminder that the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDot) will hold a public hearing on July 26th 2006 in regards to the proposed improvements to Eldorado Parkway. The hearing will be held in concert with the Town of Little Elm and Denton County and will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Little Elm High School - 1900 Walker Lane. A public comment period will be held after the hearing and an open house will take place from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. to give people an opportunity to ask questions and review the public exhibits. TxDot personnel will be on hand to answer questions about the project.

TxDot officials will comment on proposals regarding Eldorado Parkway from 0.2 miles west of Garza Lane to 0.1 mile west of FM 423 for a total distance of about 5 miles. The proposed cross section of this will be a divided urban curb and gutter road with four 12-foot travel lanes, with a 40 foot wide median. The large median is to allow for future expansion to a six lane roadway in the future. Turn lanes are planned for selected intersections. The road is planned along the exsisting roadway alignment.

This road and the bridge it will connect to the Dallas North Tollway is the most exciting thing to happen to our town in many years it will bring about many changes in our community and will ease traffic congestion. I enourage everyone who can to attend this hearing and help shape this important project.
